Can anyone give me some knowledge about metal roofs? ?
I’m thinking of putting a metal roof on instead of the average, normal shingle roof. Can you tell me the pros and cons to them? Thank you.

Metal roofs seem to be the “IN” thing here lately. They’re lifetime guaranteed in most cases, they come in a wide variety of colors, though some are totally ugly!!!!!! I noticed something in the 1040 instructions last year that there was a tax credit for certain types of metal roofs, you should check into that before you buy. You can probably go to www.irs.gov for more info on it. I don’t really know of any cons on the metal roofs. They’re fairly easy to install, and price wise I don’t think they’re that much more but always get 3-4 estimates so you don’t get cheated. Not all contractors are honest. You should probably get some references too to check out to see if their customers were satisfied with their work and the product.
