Mayday! Mayday! Plastic pilot DOWN!!!?
RC Aircraft Down! On school roof!!
Need help! Here’s the deal – it is near the peak 15′ up and 30′ slope @ about 30 degrees , metal roof with no horizontal ridges or ‘gotchas’ on slope. The peak does have about a 3″ rising vent so that is a possible obstruction to the rescue. No upward ridge at the bottom so if it slid down, it would just slide over the edge to the ground-that is GOOD.
I am thinking ladder and climb up, but that is illegal and obvious. I plan to get this thing tonight… was also thinking fishing pole and casting – but need ideas on ‘lure’ that is heavy enough to cast the distance but not get caught on the ridge vent – also able to ‘drag’ down plane.
I have about a 100 yard lit yard to cross so really don’t want to go with ladder… School has cameras but probably not real time monitoring or motion detection. Cops come by every 45 or so.
Any ideas on how to get this thing back quick, easy, and without getting caught? thx in advance!
You should try calling the school to see if the maintainance staff is there because someone is bound to see you and it isn’t worth getting charged with trespassing! Talk to someone at police dept and they may even help you get your plane. Don’t take unecessary chances!
